The Journey Begins

I am starting this blog to help me get the most out of my last semester in college. I find myself going to a lot of the same places to eat. This is my attempt at stepping outside of my comfort zone.

I had the opportunity last night to go out to a place called Amvets. Prior to going, I had never heard of this place. This visit is what inspired me to start this journey.

I am looking for fun local places to go to next week. Suggestions are welcome!

  1. Mmmm food. I'm going to love this one. Have you been to Busy Corner? Their pies and breads are pretty awesome.

  2. This is really exciting! I was actually be curious to know if there is anywhere in close driving distance of Bradley that students don't usually frequent... Maybe somewhere downtown that just doesn't get visited by our age group much? Good luck in your adventures!

  4. http://www.bastaspeoria.com/

Basta's is an Italian restaurant in Peoria Heights. It's prices aren't exactly college kid friendly, but the food is really good. If you can find some dude to sucker in to taking you there on a date or something, I'd recommend it.

Fair warning that it will make Olive Garden seem far less attractive.

  5. My boss has recommended Basta's to me too. Guess I am going to have to find a date!

  6. This is a really good idea! I will definitely be looking forward to your post to see what places there out there. I will most likely end up trying out some of these places you go to depending on how well you enjoy them.

  7. If you have friends joining you and like a tapas style restaurant go to Noir. Great food/drinks, great vibes/jams, and a chill atmosphere. I don't know what more you could ask for.. ;) http://thenoirbar.com/contact.html

  9. If you haven't already been, I highly suggest the Burger Barge on Main Street in East Peoria. They have a ton of different menu items and the atmosphere is pretty cool. You'd almost think you were at the Krusty Krab. Check it out sometime
